“NO ME QUITEN LA CRUZ”

Lucas 23:33-41

En el mundo de hoy muchos tienen una preocupación de llegar con “buenas nuevas” a toda la sociedad moderna.  En su afán de remover todo lo que pueda ofender, presentan “otro” evangelio, sin CRISTO, sin padecimientos y sin cruz.

La Iglesia Cristiana celebra un tiempo de reflexión espiritual en esta temporada.  Debemos recordar que el Cristo vino a padecer y a morir en una cruz.  El Justo padeciendo y muriendo por los injustos; el Deseado padeciendo y muriendo por los indeseados.

La muerte de Jesús en aquella cruz nos ofrece perdón, redención y reconciliación.  Para muchos, la cruz es símbolo de “maldición” pero para los que hemos aceptado a Jesús, la cruz es símbolo de amor; un amor sin comparación.  Me pueden quitar mis pertenencias, aún el hálito de vida física, pero que “no me quiten la cruz”.

“DON’T REMOVE THE CROSS”

Luke 23:33-41

In today’s world many want to reach the modern day society with “good news”.  In their effort to remove anything that may offend, they present “another” gospel, without Christ, without sufferings, and without a cross.

During this season, the Christian church usually takes time to reflect on spiritual issues.  We should remember that Christ came to suffer and die at a cross.  The Just suffering and dying for the unjusts; the Desired one suffering and dying for the undesired.

Jesus death at the cross offers us forgiveness, redemption and reconciliation.  For many, the cross is a symbol of “cursing” but to us that have accepted Jesus, the cross is a symbol of love, an infinite love.  They may remove my belongings, even the air I breathe, but please, “don’t remove the cross”.
